Welcome to OLG Nick!

Nick Low, Principal E&I Engineer.

OLG would like to welcome Nick Low to the team.

55-year-old Nick joined the company on 18th March 2024 as a Principal E&I Engineer, after previously having worked for Lloyds Register (Kashagan Project Kazakhstan) as a Senior E&I Verification Engineer.

Over the years Nick’s work has taken him around a number of countries, including Algeria, Egypt and even offshore on the Apache North Sea assets as Platform E&I Commissioning Lead.

Based at On Loan House, Immingham, Nick is responsible for managing projects for various clients from Concept to detailed design, ensuring client compliance and meeting design Critia using current British and international standards. His role will also involve proposing new and innovative components, systems, and processes to provide future proof solutions.

Nick lives in Cleethorpes with his wife of 26 years Joanne, who has managed the house and children whilst Nick has worked away, as well, as working part time in various roles.

They have 3 children; Jack is 24yrs old and works for EDF on the Nuclear Power Station in Heysham having gained a 1st Class Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University, and he is now working on his Chartership. Their daughter Devon is 22 and also currently studying at Newcastle University, where she is in her 4th year of a 5 year Dentistry Degree, and their youngest son Ted who has just turned 16 attends King Edward VI school in Louth. Ted is currently revising for his GCSE’s and is hoping to stay on in 6th form and do A levels in his chosen subjects.

Nick is a keen cyclist who enjoys the Lincolnshire Wolds most weekends and also enjoys walking with his wife and dog Elsie (especially if it involves refreshments along the way!)

As a family they are keen football fans and Nick regularly attends Old Trafford to support Manchester United with his sons where they have held season tickets for several years, although this may not always be classed as enjoyment!

Nick said, “I am excited to join OLG and settling back into working locally. I have been working either overseas or offshore for some years and feel it is the right time to bring some of my experience and knowledge to local industry and become an integral part of the OLG team. I enjoy seeing a project develop from initial concept right through to a constructed and operational facility.”

From everyone at OLG, welcome on-board Nick!
